get to know gabz!

hi loves!

i’m gabz and i’m so excited to meet all of you! there is so much i want to share, i don’t even know where to begin!

How about we start from the beginning, going all the way back to the life of little Gabz. I was born into a family of Olympic level figure skaters. My mom, Isabelle Brasseur, is a two time Olympic bronze medallist and World Champion for Canada and my dad, Rocky Marval, a two time US Figure Skating Championship gold medallist and Olympic participant. Inevitably I was bound to be a figure skater as I knew nothing other than the ice beneath my feet. I grew up in the rink and made so many amazing friends and memories. I had incredible opportunities ranging from being on television on the Kristy Yamaguchi Family and Friends Skating Show, to modeling for the Canadian based company Mondor and my favorite experience of all, traveling the world on Team USA at the junior level. I dreamed of being at the Olympics just like my parents but unfortunately my skating journey did not take me on the path I had always imagined. Even though it was a hard pill for me to swallow that all of my skating dreams would not come true, it allowed me to open my eyes and discover the world outside of the rink. I never realized how many other amazing opportunities were available outside of the skating world so I decided to take the scary leap and explore new adventures. Although quarantine was a difficult time for many people, and my heart is heavy for all who were affected, personally it was an incredible time for self growth. Being at home gave me the chance to reflect and evaluate what I wanted the rest of my life to look like. I stumbled across the power of manifestation and connecting with the universe which truly helped me find my higher self. During this time I decided to commit to the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia founded by the incredible Paula Wallace. I originally was planning on attending SCAD for interior design, to follow in the footsteps of my idol Joanna Gaines, but once I got to Savannah in September, and took part in some workshops, it led me to where I know I truly belong. We’ve gone from little Gabz all the way to now, 20 year old Gabz who is majoring in Social Strategy and Management. Who I am today is someone 16 year old me would have dreamed of becoming, a strong, self confident woman who knows who she is and what she deserves. I am beyond grateful to have the opportunity to share my life with all of you and I can’t wait to have you come along with me on my new journey in life!

xoxo,

gabz
